Swimming club for people with disabilities, open to all ages and swimming abilities no matter the severity of physical or learning disability


The Barbara Bus Fund was set up to help people who cannot get out or use public transport or an ordinary car because their disability confines them to a wheelchair. has a selection of specially converted vehicles that can accommodate from one to three wheelchairs in comfort, along with several able bodied passengers. All the vehicles are equipped with appropriate wheelchair restraints. The fund relies on volunteer drivers and voluntary donations to keep operating.


The charity works with volunteers and the community to help to improve the patient's experiences in hospital. Range of volunteering roles, some may be small but make a big difference to the experience of the aptients. On 3 sites, Barnet General, Royal Free & Chase Farm


B.A.C.A. is the U.K. arm of a worldwide organisation. Its purpose is to empower abused children to not fear the world in which they live, to help them heal and to provide them with the strength necessary to testify against their abuser.


Dance and performing arts.Run regular ballet, tap and street dance classes from the age of 18 months to adult at Farriers Way Community Centre. ISTD dance exams, put on shows and perforamnces and events, and holiday workshops


Fundraising` for the benefit of residents of Elstree and Borehamwood


The object of the society is to promote and encourage interest in the use and cultivation of garden plants and to assist members in every branch of gardening. The society holds three competitive shows per year: spring, summer and autumn. These include flowers, fruits, vegetables, cookery, floral art exhibits


To collect, preserve, document, interpret and display evidence of the history of the local area for the interest, enjoyment, undserstanding and education of the local community and others.


Forming relationships with twin towns of Offenberg (Germany) and Fontenay-aux-Roses (France), developing cultural knowledge and producing community opportunities here and in twin towns


A choir for all ages that is inclusive, multicultural, inter-faith and for all abilities. No requirement to read music and no auditions, they provide the opportunity for adults to meet like minded people who enjoy singing and having fun. The chior regularly perfiorms at care homes and at community events with the aim being to encourage people to sing regularly to improve mental health. Transport is provided for those less mobile to both the concert performances and the weekly 2 hour rehersals at 7.30 Monday evenings held at St Teresa's Church Hall in Shenley Road, Borehamwood


To enable members of the local community aged 65+ to meet together one morning a week for a cup of tea and a chat with friends. Provision of activitiesd, entertainment and exercise. To refer and signpost organisations such as: CAB, Herts Help and Hertsmere Borough Cuncil. To host presentations from local organisations: Police, Fire Brigade, Borough and County Council etc to provide information to users. Members of the local daycare centre also regularly come to the Drop-In. The Drop-In has no formal membership or restrictions on who can attend, there is a weekly fee of £1.50 charged at the door which covers tea, coffee and all activities and entertainment. The Drop-In meets at Fairway Hall, Brook Close, Borehamwood WD6 5BT every Tuesday morning from 10am-12noon.


BIHCA provides numerous activities: supplementary school, social club, women's coffee afternoon, football club, Community Engagement Worker. The organisation's core purpose is to eliminate social exclulsion and isolation and promote better wellbeing for all. The services they provide are for the whole community of any background - all are welcome. Activities are held at the Aycliffe Rd Day Centre on a weekly basis. Regular committee meetings are held to ensure each member is up to date with relevant information, and to discuss any ideas to improve the organisationOffer youth iniatives centred

1st Bushey Heath Scouts group is a charity running a Beaver Colony, Cub Pack & Scout Troop for boys and girls aged 6yrs to 14.5 years. Governed by Policies, Organisation & Rules of The Scouting Association, whose core purpose is to "actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society". Meeting are run from our scout hut on Little Bushey Lane, although some may be off site at Phasels Wood Scout HQ or Lees Wood Scout Campsite. Beavers - Thursdays 6.30-7.30pm; Cubs - 6.45 to 8.00pm, Scouts - Wednesdays 7.00 to 8.45pm. We provide opportunities for a variety of activities such as camping, hiking, pioneering, shooting, archery, survival camp, night exercises, camp cooking etc. We have a number of annual events that are District activities joining together with other scout groups for swimming galas, chess competitions, sports day, marksman competition & district camps.


Cecil's Horse Sanctuary aims to relieve the suffering of equines, who may be old, neglected, abandoned or otherwise, in need of care and attention. We aim to provide and maintain rescue homes and other facilities for the care and treatment of such equines.


Cherry Lodge provides free, high-quality information, support and complementary therapies to people affected by cancer
